emulating ecological environments

As a result of constant dumping of waste and debris caused by progressive urbanization over the years, the Hackensack River became significantly tainted, killing many native species. However, upon closer inspection of the site, it was discovered that a handful of resilient species were able to thrive and flourish in the absence of previously dominant species. It was discovered that the pollution created a unique ecosystem dependent on its hazardous conditions.
